Mystery Birds 2

More birds whose names I have forgotten. The eyes on this one look human! Anyway, if anyone knows the names of these guys*, let me know. mcdewey *I am pretty sure I heard one call the other Oswald, but I can’t be sure.

Emu

I kept looking for an Emu with a full head of feathers, but they all look this shaggy. Turns out this is normal. Emu are 5-6 feet tall and can reach speeds of 30 mph. I never saw one moving more than a walking pace. Feeding them is kinda scary. They turn their heads on the side and snatch of the food and whatever bits of extra skin you have on your hands. mcdewey

All swans are white. This was absolutely true until Australia was discovered where black swans are found. This is the metaphor for a theory, the theory of black swan events. Black swan events are unexpected events that have a disproportionate effect on things and that are rationalized after the fact. I highly recommend reading this book. Oh, and by the way. Black swans are real. mcdewey
